Erthos, Inc. and Sky Community Solar Forge Master Agreement for 180-MW Solar Portfolio Deployment Across Texas

Erthos, Inc., a leading figure in the large-scale solar technology sector renowned for its groundbreaking Earth Mount Solar system, has unveiled a significant advancement in its collaboration with Sky Community Solar. Through a comprehensive master agreement, Erthos is set to furnish a remarkable 180-MW solar portfolio across various projects in Texas. Ranging from 9 MW to 18 MW, these projects strategically dot the landscape near major population centers.

Headquartered in San Antonio, Sky Community Solar has singled out Earth Mount Solar’s standardized and modular design as a pivotal factor in choosing Erthos as their partner. The streamlined and uniform nature of Earth Mount Solar has streamlined the master agreement process significantly. This system’s high energy density and minimal vertical profile have been hailed for optimizing land usage, reducing visual impact, and expediting community approval processes.

Dudy Levy, Partner at Sky Community Solar, has stressed the unparalleled ease facilitated by the master agreement, attributing it to Earth Mount Solar’s consistent design. In contrast to conventional tracker systems, which often present site-specific challenges, Earth Mount Solar offers a uniform solution across all sites.

Earth Mount Solar stands as a revolutionary innovation in large-scale solar plant design, boasting PV modules positioned flat on the ground, effectively eliminating the need for driven piles and steel tracking structures. This approach drastically reduces installation time, materials, and operational complexities, thereby resulting in the lowest levelized cost of energy and heightened project returns for developers.

Charles Pimentel, President of Erthos, has reiterated the company’s dedication to aligning solar projects with local communities and landscapes. Acknowledging the significance of community engagement, Pimentel has emphasized the imperative for clean energy initiatives to resonate with community values and priorities.

The commencement of construction on the first project is scheduled later this year, with the entire portfolio slated for commercial operation by the end of 2026.

Sky Community Solar has expressed its excitement in partnering with Erthos, citing the cost-effectiveness and unobtrusiveness of their solar systems, requiring minimal compromise from communities embracing clean energy initiatives.
